Bad (B)Rand

Presidential candidate Rand Paul has been told to stop selling the Ray-Band sunglasses he has begun to sell on his campaign cite. He called this a mixture of cool and politics. The company didn't find it cool, and they have told him to stop selling their sunglasses as his own brand. This could be something small but it could be used against him by his opponents. Obviously you shouldn't take someone else's work and call it your own, that's why we have patents. If a candidate can't get that maybe they should look at the laws of the country they want to lead. Just saying....

  1. Haha there ya go Rand Paul.. Get the people to buy Ray-Bands from you for support. Now that's a true business man (; I don't think its the issue of taking someone's work as his own though, Quinn; the company just doesn't want to be thought of as "endorsing" any candidates because they could loose customers who don't support him and think they're sponsoring him. Interesting tactic for sure.

  3. Well this is definitely one of the more bizarre things I've seen politicians get in trouble for. I think it's kind of hilarious that he was selling sunglasses to begin with and even funnier that the company is telling him to stop. All I can imagine is this guy and his weird curly hair rocking the sunglasses while executives in the background shout at him.

  4. We learned that candidates will do many crazy things to get media attention as free advertising, but I never would've guessed that this would be a tactic.
