I mustache let you know my secret to success

Iowan Governor Terry Branstad credits the fact every time he has won the election he has had a mustache, so he is going to keep it. It seems to be working since he is up for his sixth re-election and if re-elected he will have held an executive office the longest of anyone in U.S. History. The reporter who did this was given a private tour of all of the governor's personal things from his time in the office. The reporter asks him about his opinion on candidates that he would support. He didn't mention any accept that he would favor the Republicans( no surprise). I found this article rather interesting since he credited his mustache to his success. I also would find it really cool if he would be re-elected because that would be a good historical event in our lives for a change. Another unfortunate repeat in American history

Riot police reminded protesters of the Vonderrit Myers Jr. shooting that they will show up if they get out of hand early Monday morning. The most the riot police did was beat their batons in unison on the ground and let them pass.  Throughout the entire time, the protesters sang of chants towards the police officer that shot the black teen last week. The father of the teen was with the crowd. Police arrested seventeen protesters that were doing a sit in at the convenience store he was killed at. This along with a shooting in Florida have brought international attention to race relations in the U.S.

The first thing I have to say about this is WOW. I mean seriously, how long and how many will have to die for this thing we "settled" with the civil war and civil rights movement with MLK Jr. If police are actually suspected of shooting someone on race, then hold a investigation and look into it. Where they threatened or did they pull out a gun and just start shooting. From what I have heard, I have no idea if there was any footage on the shooting from the store cameras. The main point I'm getting at here is that people need to get the facts strait before calling it a racist crime.

U.S cracking down on Ebola sccreening

The United States government has began to screen every passenger that comes from "infected" countries. Although that number is only around 150 people, it still is a precaution to help keep it from spreading to the U.S anymore than the one case that has been confirmed on U.S soil. I think that this is a good idea, but they should be also cautious of other countries that it may have spread to, which could be any so that may be a little difficult.

LA-area mayor gets bad end of domestic dipsute

The mayor of LA-area was shot at 2:30 p.m. by his wife at their home on September 30. He and his wfie were arguing when their son came inbetween the two and while the son and fatherr argued, the wife/ mother went and grabbed a gun and shot her husband several times. She and her son were released on October 1 in the morning. The mayor was well respected and helped others with their problems. This is honestly really sad because according to the article there was nothing said that could have escalated it to one of the two getting a gun.
